Butterflies in the Spring by Grace, age 11, Hexton JMI. Grace says, “My mask is made with 3D glow in the dark butterflies and pretty flowers. I love that they glow in the dark and I thought it could also be a safety feature when worn at night to keep you visible. I wanted to design a mask that reminds me that spring is coming and with it hopefully better days.”
Plague Protection 2020 by Felix, Age 13, St Chris. Felix says the mask is “inspired by the Black Death plague masks. The chains show I feel tied to the home/home schooling. The prison bars painted on the leather are how I feel in lockdown; trapped. The leather lacing is another example of feeling tied down.”
Chickmo, by Merrie, age 6, St Chris. Merrie says, “It is a chicken with a Mohawk. I was inspired by seeing someone with a Mohawk.” Merrie used scraps of foam, film and pipe cleaners to make her mask.
