Befitting of its name, there are lots of parks, green spaces and tree-lined avenues with easy access to the surrounding countryside. In the town centre, you’ll find a mix of attractions including specialist shops; a range of places to eat and drink from independent coffee shops to well-known restaurant chains; an Art Deco cinema and theatre; an arts centre; regular farmers’ markets; supermarkets and hotel accommodation.

On St Chris’s campus and in the surrounding area you will spot lots of wildlife including Letchworth’s famous black squirrels!

The nearby towns of Hitchin and Stevenage offer more leisure and shopping opportunities, with Cambridge and central London just short train rides away.
