Junior School Drama
Through drama, our students grow in confidence, creativity and collaboration – discovering the joy of performance together.
At St Chris, drama is a joyful and essential part of Junior School life. Through class performances and our annual large-scale productions, every student has the opportunity to develop confidence, creativity and teamwork in an inspiring theatre environment.
Our Junior School productions are staged in the School Theatre, complete with professional-standard lighting, sound and staging. Students can choose to perform on stage or take on important backstage roles such as set design, costume, lighting or sound. This inclusive approach allows everyone to find their place in the magic of theatre.
Taking Centre Stage
Each year, students from Year 3 to Year 6 are invited to take part in the Junior Show – a musical performed to the public. Rehearsals take place during lunchtimes and after school, offering students the chance to develop their dramatic, musical and stagecraft skills as part of a supportive and creative team. Recent performances have included Moana, The Little Mermaid, The Wiz, Annie and Calamity Jane.
Big Moment for Our Youngest Performers
Our younger students also enjoy performing together in a collaborative, nativity-inspired production each year, rehearsing as part of the school day. These performances are a celebration of imagination and confidence, marking joyful milestones in their creative development.
