Life in the St Christopher School Nursery
We believe the early years are a time for curiosity to flourish and creativity to shine.
At St Christopher School Nursery, we nurture a caring and inspiring environment where early learning is shaped not just by structured experiences, but also by the freedom to explore, imagine, and create.
Here, learning unfolds naturally. Children are given the space to play, learn, and grow together, developing a sense of respect for themselves and for one another. In this atmosphere of kindness and support, they feel confident to take risks, try new things, and celebrate each other’s achievements.
Our Nursery culture places each child at the centre of their learning journey. By valuing student voice and embracing exploration through play, we lay the foundations for a lifelong love of learning — and the confidence to carry it forward into the next stage of school life.

Enhanced Learning by a Caring Team
Our Nursery is led by a team of dedicated Early Years professionals who are deeply passionate about child development. They take the time to know each child as an individual, guiding their learning journey and supporting their growth every step of the way.
To enrich daily life in the Nursery, children also enjoy specialist sessions in music, Forest School, and swimming. These experiences give even our youngest learners the chance to discover new interests, build confidence, and develop skills that will stay with them for life.
Communication Between Home and School
There's always something happening in the St Chris community, and we recognise that effective communication between home and school is essential in supporting social, emotional and
academic progress.
In addition to speaking with staff directly, St Chris uses the following methods of communication.
- My School Portal: Is a single secure platform that collates and displays all student information in one place. Through the portal you can view: Students Timetable, Attendance Information, School Reports, Weekly Food Menus, view our School Calendar, Book Parents' Consultations and Access Ticket Sales.
- Email: Where a member of staff needs to contact you directly they will use the email you have provided to the school.
- The Roundup: The Roundup is our weekly Friday newsletter that is sent to all parents/carers and contains news, notices and information about the week ahead.
- Evolve: Evolve is an online system the school uses for the planning, approval and management of trips, visits, sports fixtures and bookable co-curricular activities.
- Class Dojo: An app where class teachers can communicate directly with the class and share updates about activities. Class Dojo is where we share homework, spelling lists, reminders related to the Junior School and class specific reminders and news.
- Tapestry: An app for Nursery and Reception parents only, where we share your child’s learning journal.
- Parent Surgeries: We welcome and encourage open dialogue between school and home. The Head (Rich Jones) holds weekly Parent Surgeries every Friday for any parent who would
like to come in to speak with him – either face to face or via video call. - Social Media: A great way to keep up to date with what is happening at St Chris is by following us on social media. Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.
- Class Rep & WhatsApp Groups: When a student starts at the school we ask their parent/carer if they would like to be put in touch with their Class Rep – another parent at the school. The Class Rep usually creates a WhatsApp group to share information with their class. These groups are an efficient way to stay up to date and enable social engagements to be planned.
