Our Admissions team treat each application to St Chris individually, ensuring a great level of communication and an honest, friendly approach.
The application process is an opportunity for us to understand your child’s specific needs and wants, and for you to decide if St Chris is the right place for you. Our students are our biggest asset at St Chris, and each contributes positively to our open-minded and curious community.

The Admissions Process
A Personalised and Supportive Approach to Admissions
We understand that finding the right school for your child is a hugely important decision for families. While this process can be exciting as you explore different options and avenues for your child, we also know that some parents find it challenging, particularly for key entry year groups.
Our admissions team aim to make the process of applying for a place at St Chris as smooth as possible and we are here to answer any questions that you may have. We are proud of the feedback that we receive from prospective families, highlighting our personalised and supportive approach.
Conveniently situated between Cambridge and London, St Chris is based in the historic town of Letchworth Garden City.
Letchworth Garden City boasts excellent trainline connections and is within proximity to the major UK airports. The School also runs several bus routes to popular Hertfordshire towns and villages including Hitchin, Harpenden, St Albans, Welwyn Garden City, Hadley Wood, Potters Bar, and North London.
Students can board with us from the age of 11 (Year 7).
There are systems in place to allow us to offer this provision from the age of 10 in certain circumstances, for example for children of Foreign Office or British Armed Forces employees. Please see the Boarding section of our website for more information but do contact us to discuss your individual requirements.
The first formal step in the application process is to register for a place by completing our online Application Form on our Admissions Portal. This includes the payment of a non-refundable Registration Fee of £100, and uploading your child’s most recent school report. We will also approach their current school for a personal reference.
Once you have registered for a place, the next step is to undertake our entrance assessments.
We have a selection procedure that is designed to identify both current performance and future potential, as well as considering how an individual will make a positive contribution to the St Chris community.
Step 3 - Offer
Offers are made in writing with deadlines for the acceptance of a place. A signed Acceptance Form and the payment of the deposit by the deadline secures a place.
Come and say 'Hello' in person
Personal tours of the Nursery, Junior School, Senior School and Sixth Form are always available to book via our online portal, and include a meeting with the most senior member of staff for that area of the school, either in person or – when circumstances dictate – remotely.
“The care that my child has received, and frankly the love from the teachers, and the individual approach offered, flexibility and communications with parents, have all exceeded my expectations. My son struggled to go to school and now he wakes on a weekend and is sad that he can’t go.”
