Admissions

A Warm Welcome to St Chris from the Admissions Department

We aim to make the process of applying for a place at St Chris as smooth as possible and our admissions team is here to answer any questions that you may have.

We are proud of the feedback that we often receive from prospective families, highlighting our personalised supportive approach. We are always happy to talk through the admissions process as your family begins this journey with us.

St Chris is an independent day and boarding school that welcomes girls and boys from the ages of 3 to 18.

Our Junior School includes a nursery, and children can start from the term that they turn three years old. The Junior School runs up to Year 6 (age 10+). Following Junior School, children move across to the Senior School and Sixth Form, which are on the same campus.

The main points of entry into the Junior School are in the Nursery and Reception (age 4+). In Year 5 (age 9+) we expand the year to a two class intake, and have space for additional children in Years 5 and 6.

In the Senior School the main points of entry are Year 7 (age 11+), Year 9 (age 13+) and Year 12 (age 16+) for Sixth Form.

Entry into other year groups is sometimes possible subject to the availability of a place.

Pupils can board on a weekly basis from age 10 (Year 6) and on a weekly and full boarding basis from the age of 11 (Year 7).

We’d like to show you why St Chris is truly different. As a first step, we encourage you to attend one of our Open Days, or to come for a private family visit at any point during the academic year. A private visit usually includes a meeting with the Head or Deputy Head so that you have the opportunity to discuss your child’s educational needs in more detail.

We are happy for you to visit us as many times as you wish, either with or without your child.

Please do contact the Admissions Department with any questions or queries at any point in the admissions journey.

We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to St Chris in the near future.

Covid-19 Information

Due to the containment measures associated with the COVID-19 outbreak, St Chris is currently physically closed for mainstream schooling. We continue to operate remotely to offer virtual learning for all of our pupils and our top priorities are to:

  • Continue to support and move forward the learning goals of each class or subject;
  • Support our pupils pastorally;
  • Support families as they navigate challenges that arise with work schedules and childcare.

Current Parents

Full details of our remote learning arrangements and resources, pastoral care and safeguarding information have been emailed to parents. Please visit our parent portal for updated information. Staff contact details can be found by clicking here.

If you are a prospective family looking for a school for your child, our Admissions Office is open and members of our Admissions Team are available to talk to. They can answer any questions you may have about the school and how to apply, set up virtual meetings with key teachers and can send you a video tour of the site while the School is closed.

As well as offering video tours, we are also organising a small number of socially distanced tours of the School to those families looking for places for September 2020. Please get in touch if you would like to find out more.
