Sport

The St Chris PE Department aims to give every child the chance to enjoy sport and fitness activities.

There is a focus on inclusivity and fitness, and the benefits of sports wider impact on a child’s development in terms of team work, resilience and leadership.

St Chris pupils regularly achieve excellent results in individual and team competitions with recent stand out performances in athletics, cross-country, swimming and netball.

Facilities

St Chris benefits from a 25-acre campus, with extensive grounds and sports facilities, which allows our pupils to enjoy a wide range of different sporting opportunities.

Facilities include a full range of pitches – both grass and artificial; sports hall; indoor swimming pool; climbing wall; tennis courts and skatepark.

Sports

Football, rugby, basketball and netball are the major sports in winter, with cricket, tennis and rounders played in the summer.

All pupils also have modules in athletics, lacrosse; badminton; long-distance running, cycling, swimming, climbing, gymnastics, trampolining, canoeing; volleyball and fitness training during their time at St Chris.

Swimming

Swimming plays a large part in the life of the School, with students having weekly lessons from Year 7 to Year 9 and the St Chris Swim School offering lessons to the wider community – for more information please click here
