29 June 23
After months of tireless preparation to deliver the best summer celebration, the effort certainly paid off. St Christopalooza, previously called the Summer Celebration, started at 2pm but its birth began long before this! On the day, pupils, parents, staff and stakeholders thoroughly enjoyed a huge selection of food and drink. This included a BBQ, an incredibly popular Candyfloss stand, a cider and beer stand provided by Garden City Brewery and more. Enough talk of food, though! Let’s get into the events of the day.
Throughout the day, there were plenty of activities for both Junior School and Senior School pupils (as well as plenty of opportunities for adults to enjoy themselves, too!). Plenty of stalls were organised by students themselves, including a throw-the-moose stall, ‘Take a Pic’ photobooth, Coconut Shy and Blackjack stall. Just north of these stalls, visitors enjoyed using the amusement park to their leisure as the rides were all free! Pupils – and even staff – loved wizzing around in the teacups and younger pupils enjoyed flying to the sky on the bungee trampolines. Even the alpacas had an area pitched up in the centre of the field, showing off their newly-shaven coats and fabulous haircuts.
The event really was a tremendous effort by those involved, and now the pressure is on to build something even bigger for next year!
