Today, the Junior School had a special visit from the Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Protection Service.

The firemen demonstrated the equipment they use when on the job to J Group (Year 1). The Junior School learned about the importance of functioning smoke detectors and even had a go at firing the hose at a target (as did our Marketing and Communications Manager)!

The Junior School revelled in being able to go on the Fire Truck and even beep the horn. The visit came after J Group had been learning about the Great Fire of London. As an extension of their learning, the students tested out all the equipment and enjoyed learning about the life of a firefighter onboard the truck. The students also learned the importance of functional smoke detectors and the noise they should make.

Thank you to the team at the Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Protection Service (Baldock and Letchworth). The students thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with you!
