Two mixed teams from Years 7 & 8 took part in the final heat of this year’s National Reading Champions Quiz (organised by the National Literacy Trust) on Wednesday.
The online quiz is a serious test of students’ book knowledge and consisted of eight rounds of questions on book-related themes as various as books about families, Illustrated books, books with a transport theme and books featuring magical elements.
With over twenty schools from all over the country taking part, the competition was fierce! Team members had to think fast and work together to maximise their scores. Team A: Sachin, El, Cara and Rebecca – scored an excellent 44 points to finish in joint 7th place with Westminster Academy. Team B: Sam, Monty, Coco and Noah – scored a sparkling 46 and finished in 4th place, only narrowly missing third place. An enjoyable time was had by all and a huge ‘well done’ to all those students who took part.
