In February Year 10 (IV Group) held their inaugural charity week, where they ran a series of events including karaoke, a raffle and cake sales to raise money for the Young Carers’ Crew in Stevenage.

The students raised £700 and Charlie C, Thomas, Charlie M and Jack were recently able to present the cheque to Jo and Jane from the charity. Jane also works as a science technician at St Chris but volunteers with the team at Young Carers’ Crew who provide respite and support to young carers living in North Hertfordshire.

The young carers the charity supports are young people aged 8-18 that are primary or secondary carers for a member of their family, and the charity runs fortnightly sessions and occasional outings where they hope that the children can ‘just be themselves’ and enjoy their time at the group.

The money raised with help with their costs for events and activities including a summer trip to Wicksteed Park for the children.

Well done IV Group!
