This week our A level Biology and Psychology students had a fantastic day learning all about the brain from our wonderful guest speaker Dr Guy Sutton.
Morning lectures covered the basics of brain anatomy and brand-new innovations in computer brain implants. The dissections were fascinating where students got to see and hold the sections of the brain we have been learning about in class; really bringing the curriculum to life.
In the afternoon the final lecture covered the effects of drugs on the brain with a consideration of the genetic and neural links to mental illness and finally a quick discussion of the links between brain abnormalities and criminal behaviour.
