This week the Year 12 (Lower Sixth) A level Psychology students took a trip to London for the annual Science and Psychology Conference run by EduConferences, headed up by the people who write the A level textbooks. The speakers for the day gave interesting and interactive lectures on a range of topics including:
  • The Psychology of Dance and A Journey into Psychology by Dr Lucie Clements which got all the students up and dancing the Macarena!
  • The Psychology of Magic by Oliver Meech who taught everyone a magic trick involving making a pen and a ball disappear.

The day was a fantastic opportunity to discuss the value of being scientific in psychology and the use of research in all kinds of different fields. The students had a great time and they finished the day debating the vast opportunities available in the future if they were to pursue a career in psychology.
