Sixth Form students and their families and teachers have today celebrated after achieving an excellent set of A level results.

Overall 49% of grades were at A* or A, 72% A* to B, and 85% of grades were at A* to C. Eight pupils gained all A* or A grades.

Students cemented their places at a host of universities including Bristol, Bath, Exeter, Newcastle, Royal Central School of Drama and Arts University Bournemouth to study a wide range of degrees such as Architecture, Philosophy and Ethics, Textile Design and Clinical Studies. One student is undertaking a coveted Degree Apprenticeship in Environmental Science with the Environment Agency.

Head, Emma-Kate Henry said: “We are exceptionally proud of all of our students and their teachers who have overcome a challenging few years to achieve this excellent set of A level results.

“Despite a national drop in top grades we are delighted that our students have bucked this trend and that as a school we have achieved similarly high grades to 2021, testament to our students and their teachers having worked exceptionally hard under often difficult circumstances.”

Head of Sixth Form Nat Baker continued: “The tenacity and resilience our students have shown over the two years of their course are incredible and we are extremely proud of every single one of them.

“They are a brilliant group of people who are kind, resourceful, interested in the world around them and have an inner confidence that will see them go far. They are all a credit to St Chris and themselves. We wish them the best of luck in their next steps to university and beyond.”
