This week we were thrilled to launch our Be Her Lead programme in the Senior School.

Be Her Lead is about creating intersectional feminist spaces in schools, where everyone’s voices are heard.

The programme trains teachers to facilitate workshops for female, trans, non-binary and gender diverse students, providing resources to nurture well-being, aspirations and community-building.

Earlier this year the staff team involved received training and this week we kicked the programme off with an introductory session for Year 9 (III Group) and Year 10 (IV Group) girls.

The group discussed what the sessions were for, how the students feel about being a girl at St Chris, and what and how any issues can be improved for, and by, the group.

They also spent the session decorating journals which will be used each week – see pic!

Be Her Lead groups can be great places for understanding and activism within a school community to take root.

Workshops are held each Thursday, 4.00-5.00pm in the Psychology classroom and we hope to see as many female/non-binary students there as possible. Please email Kirsty (Psychology), Sarah (Maths), Eleanor (History) or Claire (School Nurse) if you would like to take part.
