During lockdown the St Chris art department launched the Community Creative Masks competition in place of our annual Inter-School Recycled Fashion Show which unfortunately wasn’t able to take place this year.
Pupils and parents from St Chris and from schools in Hertfordshire including Hexton JMI, Ardeley St Lawrence School, St Thomas Moore RC School and Pixmore Junior School took part in the competition during the Spring.
Entrants were asked to design, create and embellish a mask which could be made from scratch or developed from a plain mask base. They were encouraged to be as creative as possible with no restrictions in terms of the materials used or the type of design or construction.
A huge thank you and well done to everyone who took part: We absolutely loved seeing all the entries!
We asked judges Nicola Skinner and Claire West to help us narrow down the entries to choose the winners of the different categories. Nicola and Claire are a design duo and co-directors of bobandalf: they design and make handmade objects and work with paper, Jesmonite, wood, cork, cardboard.
