During the first two weeks in school after lockdown, Year 7 (I Group) spent their art lessons producing a group / community shared artwork with their art teachers.
Art teacher Lizzy said: “After discussions with the children, each member of Year 7 produced their own interpretation of a ceramic cactus. We discussed the characteristics of that group of plants and the similarities to ourselves as individuals and a community. Reminding ourselves that we are stronger than we realise and that even in the most arduous situations, it is important to stay resilient and look out for moments of beauty.”
The cacti are now on display in Drawing Room for visitors to enjoy.
