This week Year 5 (E Group) visited teacher Lydia’s Eco House to find out how the design of a house can reduce the carbon emissions it generates.
They saw how a turf roof, a compost toilet, good insulation and the use of natural unprocessed materials can help to reduce the impact of a building.
They had lots of fun too, pond dipping, meeting the farm animals and exploring the meadows and habitats around the house.
