At the start of each academic year, we run a bonding trip for those new to the Senior School in Year 7.  This year’s trip, to the Herts Young Mariners Base in nearby Lee Valley, started with beautiful sunshine despite the dreadful weather forecast and the torrential rain overnight. The 49 very excited Year 7 pupils were accompanied by Head of Year Maria, and Advisers Angeles and Mark.

After an hour long coach ride to Lee Valley the group arrived just in time for their first activity. Our pupils managed to pack in a lot of activities and tried out kayaking, paddle boarding and raft building. The pupils were particularly good at the kayaking with only two or three capsizing! The rafts were on the whole well-built and all bar one floated brilliantly but the Titanic sank and several were soaked before lunch!

A fantastic, if tiring, day!
