Last night in the boarding houses our Christmas extravaganza began!
We all got together and decorated the house Christmas trees after school, so we are all feeling very festive now!
As a special Christmas treat Arundale had a boarding house outing to Nandos (boarder’s request!) for a festive feast, and the older students in Arunside stayed at home and had a delicious home cooked meal with all the trimmings.
And then, to top it off we celebrated the tradition of St Nicholas, which is observed in some Western countries such as France and Germany, by putting shoes outside our doors in the hope they might be filled with sweet treats overnight! The good thing about having a boarding house with multiple nationalities is that you get to celebrate all of the traditions, and when it involves free chocolate…. everybody is keen to join!
Next week we will be having a magical trip to go ice skating, rollercoasters and join the fun at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, followed by a Christmas party on the last night to finish the week on a real high!
The countdown is on!!!
