Last week pupils from the Senior School attended WorldSkillsLive at Birmingham NEC.
WorldSkillsLive is the UK’s largest skills, apprenticeships and careers event. It aims to inspire more young people to consider apprenticeships and technical education career routes and get off to a strong start in work and life.
Pupils saw live demonstrations on what it would be like to work in certain job sectors. Pupils could also speak first hand to some of the UK’s largest employers and universities and take part in some of the practical skills-based activities that were taking place.
The event covered four areas:
– Construction & Infrastructure
– Health, Hospitality & Lifestyle
– Digital, Business & Creative
– Engineering & Technology
Organisations who attended included BAE Systems, BMW, Coca Cola, Airbus, HS2, Greene King, NHS Careers, Rolls-Royce, Toyota and the Army, Royal Navy and RAF, offering top jobs, apprenticeships and training opportunities.
Those who attended left with great insight into future job roles and the world of work.
