This week children from Year 1 (J Group) in the Junior School had a fireworks-themed chemistry lesson in the Senior School, with science teacher Andrew Lambie,
They pupils enjoyed learning about how fireworks get their colours.
They learnt that fireworks need fuel and energy and this was linked to seeing how much energy is held in a jelly baby.
The children had great fun creating their own fire-snakes before heading outside to enjoy some sparklers.
Year 1 teacher Claire Plain said: “It was a fantastic session and the children learnt a great deal and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”
