International students

St Christopher School has a long tradition of welcoming students from around the world

We welcome students from from Year 6 (age 11) onwards. They may join in Years 6, 7, 8, 9 or, if their English is at an appropriate level, Year 10. Students who have a good command of the English language can enter directly onto A-level courses in Year 12.

Location and facilities

The School is situated just 30 minutes from both central London and Cambridge. It has excellent transport links and is within easy reach of all London airports. We occupy a beautiful, 25-acre campus in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire.

Our purpose-built facilities include teaching classrooms; art studios; design workshops; a theatre; photographic darkroom; a climbing wall and a skatepark. There are also excellent sports facilities: a 25-metre indoor swimming pool; all-weather tennis courts; a sports hall and gym; and playing fields with pitches for football, rugby and rounders.

Programme of study

Students enter a broad educational programme in Years 7, 8 and 9 or a two-year GCSE programme in Year 10. There is also the opportunity to study a one-year programme of limited GCSEs. Sixth Form students study the two-year A-level programme.

All lessons are delivered by experienced and specialist teachers, and English as an Additional Language (EAL) lessons leading to English qualifications are also available.

The academic courses are supported by a wide range of evening and weekend activities; these provide a great opportunity to improve the students' language, as well as being a chance to learn more about Britain and to socialise in an enjoyable atmosphere.

Boarding and pastoral care

We pride ourselves on our outstanding pastoral care. We have two boarding houses, each supervised by houseparents and other resident staff who are committed to providing a caring and supportive home for students while they are staying with us.
