St Chris Pupils Shine with Outstanding GCSE Results
Following last week’s outstanding A Level results, St Christopher School in Letchworth Garden City is celebrating one of its most successful GCSE outcomes in recent years.
This year, 43% of all grades were at 9–7 (the equivalent of A*/A) and more than a quarter of all grades were at 9–8. Students excelled across a wide range of subjects, including:
- French: 100% 9–7
- Spanish: 86% 9–7
- Music: 83% 9–7
- Chemistry: 80% 9–7
- Art: 68% 9–7
More than half of students in Physics, Biology and Further Maths achieved the top grade 9.
Rich Jones, Head of St Chris, commented: "We are incredibly proud of these results and of our students for the commitment and perseverance they have shown. As a non-selective school, we emphasise the breadth and diversity of our students’ achievements, and it is especially pleasing to see more students than ever reaching the very highest grades, all while taking an active and fulfilling part in life beyond the classroom.
"These results also reflect the type of education we provide at St Chris. Our values emphasise knowing each child as an individual, encouraging them to discover their passions and achieve excellence in ways that are meaningful to them. This approach not only leads to strong academic outcomes but also helps our young people develop curiosity, confidence and compassion for the wider world."
Many of this year’s students will continue their education in our Sixth Form, and we look forward to welcoming them back in September. For now, we congratulate all students on the fruits of their hard work.
