Joining St Chris

Our Campus.

Situated on a sprawling 25-acre campus, just a short train ride from London and Cambridge, St Chris boasts an environment that radiates tranquillity and serenity.

The grounds are complemented by state-of-the-art facilities, including modern IT suites, an onsite swimming pool, expansive grounds and pitches, and specialized spaces like a ceramics studio and photography darkroom.

Since our founding in 1915, St Chris has evolved into a community of around 500 students, encompassing both day and boarding students.

Here's why we stand out:

`Embracing` an Informal Ethos

Central to our ethos is a commitment to democracy at all levels of the school. We believe in listening to and treating every voice, from the youngest nursery member to the chair of governors, with respect.

We build strong, authentic relationships with students and families and celebrate each other's achievements.

Subjects `and Academic Excellence`

St Chris students consistently achieve strong results in core subjects like science, maths, and English.

Across our Junior School and Senior School curriculums, we equally value the arts, design, music, and drama. Despite the informal atmosphere, our students are expected to work hard, aiming to give their best in every pursuit.

`Prioritizing` Wellbeing

We purposefully keep our School small to foster great working relationships and allow our students the time and space to learn and achieve their full potential.

We take pride in the contentedness of our students and their ability to reach personal goals, steering away from standardized notions of success.

What do our Parents Say?

“The school is so unique compared to other private schools in the area. I have experienced 3 others. It is measured and thoughtful in how it deals with children which is so important today with the rise in mental health issues. It provides a safe, caring and supportive environment for children to learn.” Parent Review, 2024

"My child has had a fantastic experience at st Chris. The ethos of the school is one I only wish was a standard approach to educating young people, but sadly does not seem to be. They have really thrived at St Chris and have taken advantage of the wealth of opportunities provided. I wish all children got to experience the environment created at St Chris! My child has been very lucky!" Parent Review, 2024

"I am delighted that my child's emotional intelligence is being well developed at St Chris, along with their social skills generally and their ability to navigate the pressure's of today's world; this, in addition to their academic development." Parent Review, 2024

`Where will you begin?`

If you’re looking for a ‘different’ approach to education; perhaps your child isn’t enjoying school as much as you’d hoped or doesn’t have the opportunity to be ‘seen’, St Chris could be the place for you. We want our students to achieve more than they ever thought they could and be truly happy at the same time. This is how all the great things at St Chris come to be: our simple idea that happiness produces achievement, and not the other way around.
