Jules Pretty: The Climate Emergency

Our first speaker this year is Jules Pretty. Jules is Professor of Environment and Society at the University of Essex, Director of the Centre for Public and Policy Engagement and Chair of the Essex Climate Action Commission.
Among many other roles he holds he has also been a presenter of the BBC Radio 4 series Ploughing Eden and a panellist on Radio 4’s The Moral Maze. He is among the top 0.1% most cited scientists in the world (700 out of 70,000), and is host of the popular podcast Louder Than Words.
Jules’ talk will be on the climate emergency, how the impact of this will extend further than previously believed and also feature material from his latest book, Sea Sagas of the North.
