Students at St Chris are celebrating their GCSE results today, marking the culmination of two years of hard work, determination and personal growth.
More than four in five grades were awarded at 9–5, with almost two in five at the highest grades of 9–7. The results continue a consistent pattern of strong GCSE performance at St Chris and provide students with a firm foundation for their next steps.
Across the year group, there were individual achievements spanning the breadth of the St Chris curriculum. Behind every result is a different story: subjects discovered, challenges overcome, confidence developed and ambitions for the future beginning to take shape.
Head Rich Jones said: "Today is an important moment for our students, and we are delighted to celebrate everything they have achieved. These results represent a great deal of hard work and persistence, supported by the expertise and care of their teachers and the encouragement of their families.
“GCSE results matter because they open doors, but they do not tell the whole story of a young person. We are equally proud of the thoughtful, independent and confident individuals our students have become."
At St Chris, academic ambition sits within a broad and progressive education in which every student is known and understood. Students are encouraged to think for themselves, explore their individual interests and take an active role in school life, developing the confidence and self-knowledge they will need beyond their GCSE courses.
This year’s results reflect the value of that approach. While the overall figures demonstrate consistent academic achievement, the greatest cause for celebration is the progress made by each student from their own starting point.
For many members of the year group, today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the St Chris Sixth Form. They will have the opportunity to explore their chosen subjects in greater depth, shape their own programme of study and take part in the broad range of academic, creative and co-curricular opportunities available.
Rich added: “Our ambition is for every student to discover what they are capable of and to leave St Chris ready to pursue the future that is right for them.
“There are many individual stories behind today’s results and many different ambitions for the years ahead. We congratulate every one of our students and look forward to welcoming many of them back into our Sixth Form.”
Congratulations to all our Year 11 students and thank you to the staff and families who have supported them throughout their GCSE years.
