The curriculum challenges pupils without limiting their options.

In Years 7, 8 and 9 pupils follow a broad, exciting and challenging curriculum, taught by subject specialists in well-equipped facilities. Each pupil studies English, Maths, Science, Art, CDT, Drama, French, Spanish, Geography, History, ICT, Music, PE & Games and PSHE (including Cookery).

GCSE subject choices

In Year 9 pupils are helped to choose the subjects they will study for GCSE courses, which start in Year 10. In addition to English Language, English Literature, Mathematics and the Sciences, pupils choose four other subjects.

Options programme

Throughout the Senior School an options programme runs on a Thursday afternoon, offering a wide range of courses on such things as philosophy, archery and computer coding.

Work experience and beyond

During Year 10 all pupils undertake a week of work experience with local and national employers. In Year 11 we spend a great deal of time looking at post-16 choices, including helping pupils choose the right A-level courses. Careers advice is offered to all within the curriculum.
