On Thursday, for our KS3 Day, Year 8 pupils were delighted to welcome Jessica Meserve, a local author/illustrator. She talked about how she works and to show us some beautiful artwork from her own published picture books, as well as her sketchbooks. The students then had the rest of the morning to work on their own books, with Jessica’s expert input on hand to assist.
In the afternoon, some of the students took their picture books down to the Junior School to share with Reception and Year 1 pupils; they also had a treasure hunt; and ended the day with a short video of ‘Room on the Broom’, based on the wonderful Julia Donaldson picture book.
