It has been more than two years since the last overseas residential trip took place and the Finland Trip in February 2020 was a very different venture to the trip that recently took place over the Easter break.

Seventeen Year 12 (Lower Sixth) students, accompanied by two staff, flew out to Morocco for a week of activities based at a surf and yoga camp.

The group made full use of the beaches close to their base at Taghazout, spending 6 hours a day at one of the local breaks.

Lessons were provided by instructors from the Berber Surf Camp and, after a long day in the surf, there was an opportunity to wind down either at one of the local cafes or by participating in an hour’s open-air yoga on the roof top terrace of the hostel.

On a day that the temperatures hit 28°C the group visited Paradise Valley, which offered relief from the heat with numerous plunge pools.

Towards the end of the week the students also had an opportunity to haggle for souvenirs at one of the local souks.

The week was enjoyed by all and not only did it provide an  insight into what North Africa can offer but also provided a fitting return to overseas ventures for the School.
