The Grand Final of the Bake Off has now taken place.  The theme of this year’s showstopper was ‘My Favourite Film‘ – all teams came up with incredible and imaginative ideas.  The finalists were:
Year 7 (I Group):  Ben, Amelia and Jenny – they constructed a masterpiece ‘UP’ cake!  The technical cooking skills were incredible – they made lemon curd, chocolate dipped cake pops, a gingerbread house and a three-layered cake.  It looked fantastic.
Year 9 (III Group): Art showed off his sugar paste skills with a colourful and very cute ‘Babe’ cake – we were all intrigued by the chocolate Coca Cola cake – and it was delicious.
Year 10 (IV Group): Kate, Noah and Chloe designed a gruesome but very tasty red velvet cake based on the film ‘Kingsman’.
Emma-Kate, Rich, Ros, Becky and honorary student judge Zack all had a tough time deciding on which cake should win as the standard was so high.  However, Art was declared the winner based of appearance, taste and texture – it was a really beautiful and tasty cake.  However, Year 7 (I Group) finalists won a special ‘technical skills’ prize.   An amazing effort all round!
