Congratulations to our Senior Team for winning the District Netball Tournament this week: winning all of their Pool games, then the Semi’s and then the Finals on the way to the Gold medal!
Usually, a Senior Team comprises of Years 11-13, but this year we needed some additional players to make up our team and some of our Year 9 players: Edie, Stella, Maya, May and Boo were very happy to oblige and their versatility and high level of play was very much appreciated during this week’s tournament. The team, included three Year 11 girls: Katie (GD), Thillana (GS) and Karishma GK), qualified for the semi-finals as the deserved winners of their pool, winning all four games (KJA 15-0; Barnwell 8-5; HGS 8-4; TAA ‘B’ 12-1); they then beat HGS in that semi-final match (6-3) to play Priory School in the Final. The team played solidly throughout the match and, with some consistent shooting from Lydia and dynamic centre play from Izzy, and our two Team Captains, they were thrilled to win the final (9 – 5).
Fantastic teamwork across the board – amazing play all-round girls!
