It’s been a busy week for our Netballers:
Year 9 Team: Edie, Boo, May, Lily, Bertie and Millie; plus Jen in Year 8 (thank you for stepping in at the last minute!). We knew it was going to be a tough game playing Hitchin Girls’ School, and also that we were guesting in the Year 10 league for more game experience. Our team showed great resilience to come back in the second half with a stronger defence and definitely more ball possession. Well done girls!
Senior Team: Lydia and Izzy (Captains), Karishma, Katie and Thillana (Year 11), Stella, May and Maya (Year 9). It was a very close first game vs Hitchin Girls’ School with the final goal being just too late to be counted on the whistle! (8 – 9). Our second game was a superb result of 22-3 vs Fearnhill; and the third game was another frustrating one-goal-out result! Again, missing the draw result in the final seconds with a finish of 5 – 6 vs St Francis.
The girls played impressively, especially considering it was the first time they had played together and, for some, the first time they’d played competitively in two years! A fantastic start especially as we had at least two players on court who were at least two years younger than the other girls we played.
