On Wednesday students in Year 8 (II Group) took part in an illustration workshop with Old Scholar Tabby Wall and teacher Rebecca Twiston-Davis.
They gave students a fascinating presentation about how their own work has developed. Tabby took part in the illustration project when she was a pupil at St Chris and has since gone on to complete her degree in illustration so it was great for Year 8 to see how she started and how it’s possible to progress. Rebecca is also a trained illustrator.
Students then spent the morning working on their Picture Book Project with Tabby and our art department helping to advise and guide them.
This cross-curricular approach involves all of our Year 8 students writing a story aimed at an Early Years target audience and then designing, illustrating and making their books.
