As part of our space work this term we were visited virtually by Guillaume Monroig (Tom’s daddy). He works for Airbus and helps design satellites and space buggies. He explained to us how the satellite he built got into space in the rocket and how long it stays up there.

Tom told us how his daddy uses a computer on Earth to control the satellite in space. We then learnt how the satellite uses it’s booster to push it through the Earth’s atmosphere when it no longer is in use and how it burns up and makes a bright light in the sky.

It inspired our space role play, some rocket building outside and some planet ordering and writing inside!
