This year the St Chris Parents’ Circle in the Junior School have put on a Father’s Day stall with some greener and more environmentally friendly choices for pupils to pick for their dads or for a significant parent / carer in their lives.
Gifts that the children can choose include:
- Fairtrade coffee in biodegradable and home compostable coffee packaging from Percol Coffee, who are aiming to be the world’s most sustainable coffee company: plastic-free; carbon-neutral and Fairtrade-certified.
- Men’s shampoo and shaving bar soap – helping dads to reduce their use of single use plastic packaging.
- Gardening gloves – to inspire gardening creativity!
- Men’s hankies – to help dads make the greener choice by reducing the number of paper tissues they use.
The pupils have all spent some time today choosing their present and wrapping it in recyclable wrapping paper – either with string or with biodegradable tape.
