Yesterday our IV Group (Year 10) Music class went to the Stevenage Music Centre to experience playing steel pans. They study Calypso as part of their GCSE course and this was a great chance for them to be able to be ‘hands on’ with an instrument that they would not normally have the chance to play. Within an hour, they had all had the chance to play two different pans and had learnt to play a traditional piece of calypso music!
