Today Year 6 (D Group) students are taking part in Evacuee Day in the Junior School.
Dressed for the occasion, they made sure to bring their gas masks to their handwriting and Latin lessons this morning.
Discipline was maintained by the (very strict) teachers throughout the lessons, and there was absolutely NO GIGGLING AT THE BACK.
Exercise drills in the playground followed (complete with specially arranged atmospheric fog) with gap student Nick proving to be a dab hand at organising the evacuee children and dolling out punishment exercises for those who didn’t fall into line (he’s lost his voice.)
This afternoon the children are making soup, having a sing along around the piano and are taking part in make-do-and-mend session, creating new clothes out of damaged old ones.
(Having a lovely time really..!)
