IMG_4625On Friday 5 October Vicky Axell from Letchworth’s Garden City Collection gave a Morning Talk to Senior School students about the history of Letchworth: it’s origins; founding members; ideals and the developments that took place to enable the world’s first Garden City to take shape.

The talk explored how the people from Letchworth Garden City were ahead of their time and played a pioneering role in so many movements that are relevant today including women’s rights, vegetarianism, resident-led town planning and the co-operative movement, and highlighted how St Chris and the School’s values are very much rooted here in the city.
