This week has been World Book Week in our Early Years Centre and Junior School.
It has been a tradition at the Junior School for many years and the children always look forward to it. Its purpose is to celebrate the enjoyment of reading as well as to raise funds and awareness for the good work done by Book Aid International, an organisation which brings books and other reading materials to schools and libraries in developing countries.
This year there was a ‘Guess who I am?’ competition for all EYC children; a sponsored read with Usborne Books to raise money for both Book Aid International; an extreme reading photography competition where children can submit photos of themselves, or others, reading in an obscure or entertaining place.
The theme for our dressing-up day this year was “In a galaxy far far away…”
