DSC_0064More than two hundred local Sixth Form students attended the St Christopher School Higher Education Conference in Letchworth on Friday 29 September.

Students from St Francis’ School (Letchworth), The Knights Templar School (Baldock), The Thomas Alleyne Academy (Stevenage) and Princes Helena College (Preston) joined students form St Chris for the fourth annual conference of its kind run by the School.

Following a welcome from the Head of St Chris, Richard Palmer, students attended a Higher Education exhibition with representatives from 19 universities including Bristol, Nottingham, Cambridge, Goldsmiths, Cardiff and the University for the Creative Arts.

Students then took part in a programme of workshops on courses and careers in subjects including medicine, engineering, architecture, finance, social sciences and those in the arts and creative sphere, with further seminars on student finance, university applications and interview skills.

Head, Richard Palmer said: “Our Higher Education Conference is an excellent opportunity for local students to meet representatives from a large selection of top universities to help inspire and inform their next steps following school. We hope that this informative day will leave them excited by the possibilities for their future.”
