On Tuesday 13 December Year 9 students from St Chris made Christmas care packages for the residents of Elmside care home in Hitchin and Trembaths care home in Letchworth run by MHA.
The packages included biscuits, Christmas decorations, and handmade cards for the receiver of the gift to send. Students then hand-delivered the packages to Elmside care home.
Richard Palmer, Head of St Christopher School said: “Our Year 9 students wanted to support residents in local care homes after a talk from MHA earlier this term highlighted how elderly people can sometimes feel lonely or isolated at this time of year. We were keen to enable them to take part as the benefits are mutual – meeting and sharing stories with people they wouldn’t have otherwise met means they often walk away knowing something new about the world!”
