The "Monte" comprises the Montessori Nursery Department and the "Monte Club". We occupy "Arunwood", a grade II-listed building in the grounds of St Christopher School, formerly the childhood home of the actor Sir Laurence Olivier. The Monte benefits from access to the School's extensive facilities.

The Nursery is registered to take a maximum number of 50 children. This number may vary according to the time of year. The Monte Club is registered to take a maximum of 16 children. Usually the number is much smaller. We are registered to accept Nursery Funding Vouchers. We are accredited by Montessori Education UK, an accreditation process which has an Investors in Children and Sure Start seal of approval.

Children aged 3 spend 3 ¼ hours in the Montessori Nursery Department from 8.30 - 11.45 am every day. Parents can opt for additional time in the Monte Club. Children aged 4 stay for a basic 5 hours from 8.30am-1.30pm. In addition they may stay for the full school day on 1-5 afternoons per week. Additional time after 3.20pm can be booked in the Monte Club.

Children ideally join us aged between two and a half to three years old. To transfer to the Junior School children need to be four by 1 September.
