Supporting Parents

St Christopher has a long tradition of partnership between home and school. It is essential that parents support their children and that the school understands the pressures that can be associated with growing up in a demanding and sometimes uncertain society.

We are always ready to listen and talk. We have a system for termly parent consultations and twice-yearly formal written reports. However communication can happen on a daily basis. Teaching staff are always happy to meet with, or phone parents. All staff have email addresses and there are a wide range of specialist support services available to staff, children and parents.

We offer specific guidance to parents on homework and organise occasional information evening to discuss a range of issues. Where parents have concerns they are encouraged to discuss these at an early stage with either their child’s class teacher or the Head of the Junior School. There is an active ‘Parents’ Circle’ committee which organises social events and contributes to debates within the school.
