Beyond the Curriculum

The curriculum itself is challenging and creative. However, there are many opportunities beyond the curriculum. We encourage all children to experience a wide range of activities before they transfer to the Senior School.

There is a wide range of after-school activities offered by all staff. Music ensembles and Orchestra offer excellent opportunities for children of all abilities to become involved in group music-making. There is regular extra curricular team coaching in a variety of sports and fixtures against other schools are very popular indeed.

The Junior School Council, comprising elected representatives from each class, meets fortnightly to discuss issues affecting the Junior School.

Classes regularly go out on trips and in Years 5 and 6 there is a five-day camping and outdoor pursuits experience in the Summer Term. Activities outside the curriculum give children of different ages the opportunity to work, learn and have fun together in new contexts. This enhances our appeal as a true learning community.
