The Sixth Form
The Sixth Form offers a wide range of subjects at AS and A2. It has a strong reputation for the quality of its results. Class sizes are small, enabling much individual attention to be given.
The School aims to provide a nurturing, collaborative learning environment, beginning with an induction programme to ensure a smooth progression into Sixth Form life. All students participate in a weekly programme that includes guest speakers, community service projects, independent study sessions and sports options. Guidance is given on the skills needed to succeed beyond school.
Some Sixth Formers may be elected to positions of responsibility as Major Officials, or as members of the School Council or of other committees that help to run key campaigns and events in the school year.
For a number of years, groups of Sixth Formers have travelled to the Indian desert province of Rajasthan, and more recently to Kosovo, to assist with development and educational projects. The aim of these projects is to raise students' awareness of global issues, and to allow them to contribute constructively to sustainable solutions.
All students are provided with detailed guidance about their options beyond school. This focuses on Higher Education. Virtually all our students go on to university, and a significant proportion of them to "Russell Group" universities and Oxbridge.
