Dear All

Now that Half Term, Halloween and Firework night are behind us, we’ve booked the Christmas trees.  That’s all I’m going to say about that particular festivity until at least the second week of December!

The Parents’ Circle Fireworks party was fantastic and I would like to thank you all for supporting the event and the committee and our support departments for all their hard work.

Our production of ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ is fast approaching and I would urge you all to get your tickets fast.  These musical productions are of an incredibly high standard and, despite the trickiness of the score, this looks to be no exception.  A talented cast, great production quality and superb live music all make for a sure-fire winner.

I’ve been discussing rewards and motivation with the Senior School of late.  It’s a fascinating subject in itself and I would urge you all to check out the short animated RSA lecture on my blog – it’s certainly generated some very interesting discussions in School.

The new cookery centre is proving a great hit with children of all ages (and the staff!).  Occasionally(!) children forget to bring a container and so if, in the coming weeks, you find yourself with any empty plastic tubs from ‘Celebrations’, Quality Street and suchlike we’d appreciate it if you could donate them to us for use in emergencies!  Just drop them into the Monte or Junior School Office or Senior School Reception.

Finally, our Admissions process for places in September 2012 is well under way.  If you have a child who you would like a place for in September, but who is not registered then please could I urge you to register them as soon as possible.  A number of our year groups are already full with waiting lists and a number are also looking to become oversubscribed.  We do operate a policy of sibling priority, but we need a registration form or we may give the place away.  If you would like details of the Admissions process then please do contact Pauline Barker, the Registrar.

At the end of the Autumn Term last year we had a great deal of snow.  Our policy on what happens in adverse weather can be found in the ‘downloads’ section of our website. The current weather at St Chris can be observed from our own live weather station at www.stchrislive.co.uk and I use Twitter to give regular updates @stchrishead – do follow!

I look forward to seeing you soon.
