Rural sports – Football
Team:
Henry Balden (G), Ravi Chopra, Max Ryan, Giles Fearon, Josh Rossiter, Oliver Grocott, Sebastian Wilce, Adem Hassan, Zak Jackson.
An outstanding afternoon of football saw the Junior school team win the Rural sports football competition with a maximum of 21 points from 21. It was a team performance from the first kick to the last which saw all outfield players getting on the score sheet, while conceding no goals. The commitment from the boys matched up with their hard work in training this term. Thank you to all parents who showed their support it was a really treat for all. Well done boys a fantastic afternoon of football.

IV Group (Year 10) District Netball Tournament:
1st Round
Lost 2 – 9 v St. Francis
Won 5 – v Nobel
Won 5 – 2 v Barnwell
Won 9 – 0 v Heathcote
Plate semi-final
Won 10 – 4 v Fearnhill
Plate Final
Lost 3 – 5 v Princess Helena College
Coach Jenny White commented: “It was a frustrating final match as I felt the girls could have won that game and the Plate! Unfortunately, having already played 5 games and with injuries a plenty (and some sore muscles from Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions at the weekend) the girls couldn’t quite get the ball into their shooting circle enough to make it count. However, their potential does bode well for the League games”.
The team was:

Amy Drayton, Ella Khafaji, Frankie Curran, Chloë Palmer, Sarah Camp, Vicky Benford and Tess Geraghty.
Senior Netball Tournament Results - 1st Round
Won 4 – 0 v Highfield
Won 2-1 v Barnwell
Lost 9-0 v John Henry Newman “A”
Lost 2 – 6 v Hitchin Girls’ School
These results led to a place in the Plate Semi-Final:
Plate semi-final
Lost 3 – 5 v Princess Helena College
Coach Jenny White commented: “Some of our players from training and previous matches were ill or unable to play so the girls did tremendously well to get through to the Plate Semi-Final where they only narrowly lost to PHC. The girls played cohesively as a team and, considering we didn’t have any trained shooters with us, our 5th place in the District was well-deserved”.
