Vernon is Chairman of the Governors. A resident of Letchworth for over thirty years, his son was a
pupil at the School from Monte to A-Level. Although a qualified teacher, Vernon spent his career
in university administration, retiring in 2008 as Academic Registrar of Imperial College London.
He also serves on the governing body of Queen Mary, University of London
