Two houses, one homely feel
At St. Chris there are two houses for children to stay in; Arundale for 11-16 year olds and Arunside for sixth-formers.
Arundale
In the heart of the school, Arundale gives children easy access to all the facilities through the week. The house is looked after by Chris and Cecilia Drayton, who live in the house with their own family.
Arunside
The residence for sixth-form students is a short walk from the centre of the school. This gives the young adults privacy, independence plus responsibility. The resident sixth-formers are looked after by Pippa and Malcolm Hodgson, who also live in Arunside with their family.
Always in touch
Close contact with your child and the staff is only natural and we encourage it. Houseparents are always available to chat, children are allowed mobiles and comments from staff can come from them or through houseparents.
Friendly community
St.Chris is a community of children and adults living and working together in an open and informal atmosphere. A number of staff, including the head and his family live on campus helping to create a special community that is both friendly and supportive.
